Topic:

My webpage will explore the religious themes arising from within the Disney franchise. More specifically, I will explore the religious themes that are present within the Disney works of The Lion King and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Both films are full of biblical parallels, such as characters that are comparable to religious figures as well as plot lines that are comparable to biblical narratives.

Themes:

The Lion King and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs contains multiple religious themes throughout each film. For The Lion King, themes of biblical character symbolism, sacrificial love, baptism, death and resurrection, and biblical narrative parallels are present throughout the film. Like The Lion King, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs also contains themes of biblical character symbolism, biblical narrative parallels, and resurrection.

Arguments:

In order to strengthen my arguments on the many religious themes present in The Lion King and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I will present numerous demonstrative examples throughout my webpage. When exploring biblical character symbolism in The Lion King, I will discuss key characters in the film and how they compare to religious figures. For instance, Mufasa is seen as a God-like character. He is seen in the sky multiple times throughout the film and portrays an all-knowing sense of knowledge, like that of God. Mufasa teaches Simba about the circle of life and acts as a guiding principle if Simba's life. Similarily, in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I will examine the comparison of Snow White to Jesus, and the dwarfs to Jesus' disciples. These are just two examples that demonstrate how I will build and strengthen my arguments.
